Ad Council: “I Want to be Recycled”

“Our first new campaign with Keep America Beautiful since the iconic Crying Indian campaign from 1971, we launched new PSAs this month targeting the two-thirds of Americans who are not avid recyclers. Created pro bono by Pereira & O’Dell, the PSAs tell tales of everyday items with big dreams – a plastic bottle realizes its dream of seeing the ocean by becoming a bench in its next life, and an aluminum can is reborn to be part of a stadium. Audiences are directed to a new website, where they can find local recycling centers and learn about the journey their recyclables take through an interactive infographic. The campaign hopes to reduce the average of 4.4 pounds of trash each American produces per day by taking away any mystery as to how, what or why to recycle. Learn more here.” AdCouncil
