Two Buddhist monks promise the Dalai Lama they’ll do everything in their power to help save Tibetan culture from destruction.
Working in one of the most remote and desolate places on Earth – Zanskar, in northwest India – the monks build a school in their 1,000 year old monastery combining the best of modern and traditional education. Not content to wait for completion, they take 17 of the poorest children from nearby villages and walk over the mountains to get them into schools and monasteries. This is the story of their incredible journey.
